Finding other sites by name
-
This is a question for WordPress: I was unable to look at sites that you want me to look at, or people that liked a comment I made, because I have been interrupted by a notice that I needed to sign in to or join Gravatar. What is this and why?
Correct account: Unknown
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
Do you have a link to the site you’re looking to comment and like with please?
To check – are you logged in to WordPress.com when trying to do doing this?

I received an e-mail notification that I had received a comment to a reply I had made to a wordpress e-mail about new themes and to click on a link to see it, which I did. Then I wanted to check out the people who had liked mu comment but was never able to.

Hello there,
Ok – where is this comment located exactly? Do you have a link to the page or post?

I think I have the same problem. When I go onto a blog post I’ve published (e.g this one https://elizaseymour.wordpress.com/2022/07/26/impact/ ) , there is a list of people who have ‘liked’ it with square icons. If I click on the icon, it takes me to their Gravatar profile instead of their WordPress site.
The same is true for any blog I go on. I can’t visit the sites of the people who ‘like’ blog posts. The link sends me to their Gravatar page instead. I’m relatively new, so I assumed that was how it was supposed to be.

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out @elizaseymour
there is a list of people who have ‘liked’ it with square icons. If I click on the icon, it takes me to their Gravatar profile instead of their WordPress site.
This is expected behaviour and is for those who may not have a WordPress.com site to link to.

Thank you for that explanation. In other words if a person does not have paid hosting on wordpress.com, it is not possible to connect to them directly. Do I understand this correctly?

Message for Eliza: I clicked on your link and liked your story – let me know if you can now find ME :)

I clicked in my browser on Elizaseymour and it brings me to her site https://elizaseymour.wordpress.com/

Clicking the icons of the people who ‘like’ the posts always takes me to Gravatar, even the ones I know have their own WordPress website. If they leave a comment, the hyperlink in their name takes me to their site, but it doesn’t work for the ones who ‘like’ it.
