Finding size of each element in a theme

I want to find the width of the main section of a post in the theme I use. I know I’ve done it before, but my brain won’t compute!

I just want to make sure that I size images correctly so they’re not too wide for the post element of the page.

    Thanks.

  • Hi @pramclub! If the site is hosted here, you can go ahead and upload larger images, and we’ll resize them as needed, even for mobile devices and what not. That’s all handled for you, but if you’re struggling with it anyhow, send a link to an affected page, and we’ll take a look.

That said, if you want to manually resize things on your end, I’d recommend checking what theme you’re using. It will usually list some specifications for image widths and what not. The site you shared, for example, uses this one:
    https://wordpress.com/theme/capoverso

If you scroll to the bottom you’ll see the specs. I’d go ahead and upload images twice as wide, since higher-res screens will want bigger images.

Does that help? If not, send more details and we’ll go from there.

Thanks – I thought I’d looked everywhere for that! I knew I’d seen it somewhere.
