Finding specific domain that I cancelled but need to use

Hi, I was having issues with the website design on your website, so I cancelled my subscription, but I still need to use the domain the I am no longer using. I tried looking it up again, but it says it’s not available for use. Is there a time frame when it will be available to the public again so that I can buy it?

I understand that I took a big gamble in deleting my domain!!!!! Is there anyway that I can recover it? I canceled the domain within 2-3 hours of registering it!

You appear to have canceled your domain name, which has resulted in a refund and also means that you no longer own it. However, you do have a few options for getting it back, let us know which you would like to move forward with!
- Wait for grace period to end – Your domain is in a 5 day grace period (from the time you cancelled) but at the end of that it goes on sale again. As long as no one buys it before you do, you can purchase it again with another provider. According to our records it will be available on or about 3/26
- Let us recover the domain – Because you have already been refunded, we can send an invoice for registration fees and restore the domain. You’ll be able to connect it to a new host as soon as it’s restored, then transfer the registration after 60 days.
- Stay on WordPress.com – The cost of your domain is included in your plan purchase. To restore your domain just purchase a new plan, and then let us know so we can reattach the domain to your WordPress.com site. Note that you must choose the annual (not monthly) billing option in order for the domain recovery to be free.

Okay, that’s very helpful, thank you for these options! I was curious, if I just go back to the plan I originally had and undo my whole cancellation, will I be able to go back to the $99 plan for 3 years? Or will I have to automatically go to the $4 plan a month?

@neverarose , you can try adding it again. Just skip the domain part so we can add that for you after purchase. And if you have any trouble adding that again after refunding it, let us know and we’ll send an invoice instead.

Okay, thank you! I’m thinking I might try and wait for a couple days first and see if my domain becomes available? And if not then I will maybe try to re-subscribing my account again?

Bare in mind that, if it does become available, there’s a chance someone else can purchase the domain.
Also, there’s no set time as to when this would become available.
