Finding status of WordPress
-
Hello all,
I’m new to WordPress so forgive me for asking. :)
Is there somewhere I can find the status of WordPress servers? I’m asking because I’m trying to create a post and it’s heavily lagging… taking two minutes or so just to get that page…or even just SEE my blog.
I’m not sure if that’s normal or not, but I’d like to see if there’s a status page to let me know if there are any problems.
If this is unusual, that’s one thing…but if it’s the norm, I need to look elsewhere for a dependable service. :)
Thanks very much.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress is going pretty fast for me. Disconnect and reconnect your internet, reopen your browser, clear cache, etc.. and try again (copy your post first though!)

Oops, guess I should have mentioned my blog:

Although right now (5:00 AM PST) it doesn’t seem too bad.
Thanks for the help.

I don’t have this issue. I’m in Canada on DSL. Perhaps you can provide some deatils so we can determine what is causing it or at least eleiminate some of the possible causes.1. How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Can you access any of these directly?

http://s2.wp.com/2. Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/ Please try using the opposite.
3. Eaxctly which browser and version of it are you using?
4. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies?
5. Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here.
6. Have you tried using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled?
7. Do you have third party cookies enabled?
8. Do you have JavaScript enabled?
9. Do you have another browser you can try?
10. You can use this link to see if your Flash is up to date. If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of Flash.
11. Have your tried resetting your router and modem?

Hi Timethief, and thanks so much for a detailed reply and attempt to help. :)
I haven’t tried a few of your suggestions, but I will when I get home to see if that helps. It was just that all the other sites I was currently viewing was not lagging at all.
I do use DSL (12 mbps…not sure if that helps to know that).
I tried using Safari, Chrome and IE 9. I did try clearing my browser cache and cookies.

Well, I got home and it seems to not be lagging now. So perhaps there is just not rhyme or reason….to when it lags.
I’ll keep looking at various blog platforms. It’s not a huge deal.:)
Thanks again for your help, timethief… I do appreciate it. :)

Hi there,
Thanks for getting back to us. I’m happy that you aren’t experiencing this now. You’re welcome and best wishes with your blog. :) -
I wonder if it’s an issue with your home connection? I ask because mine is truly terrible at home. If the forums load fast, but the dashboard loads slowly, that’s probably the issue. Certainly I can notice the difference.

Hi Rain,
Well, I thought that too at first, but it seems fine now (I’m at home). What was odd was that other blog sites (typepad, blogger) were fine but not WP. It was the oddest thing!
Then again, sometimes Blogger is acting up…so there’s really no pattern. ;) Thus is the nature of the Internet, eh!? :)
