Fiore theme no longer ipod friendly

  • Unknown's avatar

    I’m using Fiore theme and was adding edits to center text/menus, change my boxes to curved boxes and adding shadows. Now the mobile option of the theme will not fit to screen of an ipod for my other menu pages. My home page fits to an ipod screen but not the others. I am not able to go back to a revision before the unidentified change and I am using the CSS editor on wordpress.com. I have tried to clear all of the text changes and it did not work. Not sure what happened.

    Website is bcnupdate.com

    Hi there, was not able to reproduce this in my browser (with iPhone user agent) but did notice some issues and I’ve commented out the following CSS in your custom CSS.

    body {
    	text-align: center;
    }

    Clear the browser cache in Safari on your iPod as explained here http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser’s-Cache-on-an-iPhone and then take another look at your site and see if the issues you were experiencing have gone away.

    In general I would stay away from setting a text alignment in body as it can have unexpected result, such as this.

    The posts are left centered, how am I able to center the posts without that alignment?

    Thank you that fix helped the problem. Still need to figure out a fix to center pages. :)

    The entry content area for posts and pages is centered, but there are two things that are causing things to look the way they do on the home page.
    1. Your images are far narrower than the content area at 400px wide. The content area in Fiore is 775px in width.
    2. You have the images set with an alignment of “none” which is a left alignment with no text wrap. If you have longer blocks of text accompanying the images, you would see the full extent of the content area.

    To center align the content on the home page, archives pages (category, archive and tag), and single post pages you want to find the main div and class that contains the post content and then set that to center alignment (in this case that is .entry-content. To limit this to the main posts, single post and archives pages, you want to target each of those with the unique body CSS class (found in the opening body HTML tag) for the pages and create the three selectors below.

    .home .entry-content, .single .entry-content, .archive .entry-content {
        text-align: center;
    }
