Firefos user says my site is not trusted
-
A friend tried to access my site http://www.scuppernongspringsnaturetrail.com using the Firefox browser and he got a warning saying the site was not trusted, so he left immediately. I recently enabled the 2-step authentication for myself as the administrator of the site, but that did not clear up the trust issue on his end. What is it about my site that would generate a trust warning to Firefox users? Is there a Firefox preference he needs to update, or, does he simply tell Firefox to trust the site?

Hi there,
Is it possible that your friend was trying to go to https://scuppernongspringsnaturetrail.com or that he had a plugin on his browser which was designed to only go to the secured (https) version of every site he visits? Your site’s front-facing version does not have an SSL, so when visitors attempt to go to https (rather than http), they will get just such an error.
At this time, SSLs are not available for the front end of any WordPress.com site, however the back-end (where you log in, compose blog posts, etc), is always secured with an SSL.
Let me know if that was the case!

AMightyWP thank thee. When my friend changed the address to http://scuppernongspringsnaturetrail.com, he did not get a warning about the site not being trusted.
Thanks for your prompt attention to my query!

Amightywp would tell you that he is very happy he could help and thank you for the kind words. But he is enjoying a few much needed days off.
Happy blogging!
