Firefox / Safari / iPhone/ AOL display/click page issues
-
I was getting some complaints from Firefox and iPhone users about the blog not displaying correctly and checked it on my own laptop (I use Firefox) and found the blog was indeed scrambled. Last night someone on AOL using their default browser complained.
I posted about the technical issues to find out if any other platforms were experiencing difficulty and I found that Safari is also a problem. It’s not only the display but some users cannot click on the pages. I have no reported issues in Internet Explorer. Any suggestions? http://GettingPastYourPast.wordpress.com
Thanks all!!!!!

Yes, definitely pick a different theme, perhaps one without a tabbed header. Just be sure to put the Pages widget in your sidebar if it’s not there by default.

Hmmm…that’s interesting. How do you know how many pages you should have? Does it just support one line? How can I find out which themes will support more pages. I also can’t seem to find a Pagees widget. Grrrrrr. Thanks much.

Update: I found the page widget but how do I get the pages from showing on top of the page? Do I still need a different theme? Will it say that it has tabbed headers? Sorry for being a pain about this. Thanks much.

You will need a different theme. Some of them have tabs across the top of the header for each page, and with a lot of pages some themes get overloaded. Mistylook, for instance, hides the Search box behind the tabs if you have too many. It’s a pain that’s arisen because blog designers generally design for a lot of posts and very, very few static pages.
Unfortunately, you can’t filter for tabs. But on the Design page you can see which ones have tabs and which don’t and preview various themes.
