Firefox Tracker Block Level 2 blocks profile image
-
In Firefox the profile image when viewed on my profile page (https://wordpress.com/me) will not display when Firefox Options | Privacy & Security | tracker blocking is set to level 2. Problem not there at blocking level 1.
The profile image appears normal in published blogs, comments, etc.
It does NOT appear in the top right corner on the black bar, on any wordpress.com site or admin page with blocker level 2 on.
So far I have not noticed any other WP blog or account admin tasks obstructed by tracker blocking level 2.
It’s frustrating to not see the icon on the black bar at the top, to be sure what account I’m logged into when taking actions. I’m not keen on dropping my Firefox security level only for WordPress.

BTW, we can grant blocker exceptions in Firefox, but I have three problems with that:
1. It doesn’t feel right granting an exception to the entire wordpress.com domain with millions of sites within it.
2. Even within the domain, separate exceptions are required. For instance, this forum. Different trackers, I guess.
3. Every WordPress.com-based site that uses a custom domain would also need its own exception. Either that or for every one I visit (including subscribed ones), because I can’t see the image on the black bar, I’d have to pull my profile page to find out the account I’m using before I subscribed, Liked, posted a comment, or who knows what tracker might apply that I don’t want applied to a given account. An exception for every site in WordPress with a custom domain? Or, just give up level 2 blocking altogether, for everything in Firefox?
Maybe GDPR will eventually require providers of every kind to offer a 100% untrackable account for a fee.

Hi there,
I don’t see a level 1 or level 2 blocking in Firefox’s Content Blocking settings. If you’re referring to the Strick level, then there’s a notice that by selecting that option it may cause some sites to break. Here’s what I’m seeing:
I suggest that you read our Privacy Notice on what we track and how we use that data. Some features on WordPress.com rely on that tracking to work. If you choose to block that type of tracking then we cannot guarantee that our services will work correctly. You can read more here:
