Firefox vs IE and the Fadtastic theme
-
I really like the fadtastic theme but I did notice that IE does not show my sidebar widgets when I select a different page. Firefox shows my sidebar just fine on all my pages. I do not know if this is the way it is with this theme? Any info would be appreciated

I see your sidebar fine within IE7 on both your Pages and your individual Posts. Can you please give an example of where you’re not seeing it?

Thanks for the response, an example would be any of my pages I select in IE

Are you sure the sidebar isn’t dropping to teh bottom of your page? I see the sidebar fine in all of the pages that you list in IE7.

The sidebars are displaying correctly in firefox 2.0.0.1. This is the Fadtastic theme and the footer is hard-coded to display your blogroll.
The many images which are “large” are displaying well too. Have you considered optimizing your images as is suggested in the FAQs blog? http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/08/optimise-your-images/
I also want to mention that the “free of charge” space allowed for images is 50 megs and after that you have to purchase more space. -
I checked the bottom of the pages and and completely blank except the footer – tried on two different computers and same result both viewing in IE6 and firefox2 – I switch to a different theme like andreas09 and sidebar displays correctly – thought it may be cached, cookied and maybe temp filed so I cleared all that and still same result ;-( Good to know that IE7 works though ;-)
As for the “large” images I have timethief, I hope to find a different solution for displaying
my pictures in a more efficient way…something like a photo album, not sure if there is a plugin or if the I have to switch to wp.org in order to implement an album but I will be searching the support pages for additional info on that -
Ahhh … now I know exactly what you mean. This theme is coded to show only one “whole” front page post. I just checked this out on my test blog.
It’s a “fluid” theme. The rest of the whites space you see on the front page can only be “filled” by (1) a very long front page post or (2) displaying post titles. You don’t have a long enough post or alternatively enough post tiles yet to fill the white space.
There are no plug-ins for wordpress.com blogs, aside from Akismet.

I think I know what your getting at timethief…however we may be on different thoughts here; My sidebar that includes my “welcome” “rss feeds”, “top post”, “categories”…etc are displaying correctly in “all” of my pages, using firefox – when switching to IE the only time my sidebar is present is ont the front page post – sorry if this is confusing or maybe im confused but using IE try clicking “iPhone questions – faq’s” under my pages widget…can you see my sidebar still? In firefox I can, in IE I cant

I understand and I see two sidebars on the page with “iphone questions” and on every page I click and view in firefox 2.0.0.1 and drmike sees them fine too in IE 7. IE 6 has known issues so I’m wondering if that is the version that you’re using. If so, then upgrading to IE7 may be the thing to do.
