Sorry, there is no FTP access at wordpress.com.

You can export all content (excluding images and other uploads) via the dashboard at tools > export. It will export all comments, all posts, all pages, all categories and tags.

Images you will have to do one at a time by opening them in a browser window and then dragging them over and into a folder on your computer.

I have read the help guide. Useless.
I have 9 blogs. Each blog has many posts and pages and drafts.
One blog has 156 post items. It is displayed on 8 screens.
This means 8 export files just for the posts!
then I have images too which need to be exported separately
Then all of these shall be imported to another blog site
I have now several hours of work in front of me
One thing is sure: i will never again use WP

When you export a blog, you can export the whole thing all at once; you don’t have to do it screen by screen. The export includes: posts, pages, comments, categories, and tags. That process is usually very fast.

You will have to do images and other uploads manually.

One other thing, just for your information. All content on a wordpress site is held in a mysql database, so Filezilla would not help with that, but as Tess says, the export process will export all content (except uploads) all at once. into one file for you. It is not done page by page.

The images will take some time though if you have a lot of them.

Also, don’t delete or make private your old WordPress.com sites until your import on the other site has completed. It might be possible that the other place can automatically transfer your media files, but your old site has to be online and available for it to do so.

Cheers and good luck to you.

(also note, an export will be one file per blog, not one file for multiple blogs)
