First Amendment

In your experiences, how does WordPress compare to other blog providers in terms of their respect for the First Amendment? If one is accused of defamation, will WordPress fold like a cheap suit when the high-powered bullies start flexing their legal muscles?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If we say we will defend you to the death and will risk the blogs of millions of people to defend your right to say what you want then that would be stupid.
If we say you can say what you want and we will see what happens you will say that is not good enough.
There is no answer to your question because everything is different. I will not even discuss it generally because it is so broad.
Read our terms of Service and all the pages linked from it.
If you are that concerned keep a backup.

Sorry Mark, I didn’t mean to bother you. I tried to click on the section with subtitle “Share experiences and help each other” and indicate that this was “not a support question” in an attempt to elicit feedback from other users. Evidently that was the wrong way to go about that. Is there not a place here where individual users (i.e., non-Help-Desk-types) “share experiences and help each other”?

You didn’t bother me and this is certainly the right place.
But what you describe is not an absolute, I do not see how an answer can be given.

There is a blog which had some complaints recently.
I said the blog was covered by free speech. After some emails with others (who know more than I do) it was agreed the blog is covered under the 1st.The people that complained will continue sending angry emails and will never accept our decision. They believe in “freedom of speech but..”
The blog owner probably has no idea of the number of complaints we get and they will have no idea of the decision we reached.
