First line indent on paragraphs
-
I want to know how I can format my post to just indent the first line of every paragraph. I don’t want the entire paragraph indented, just the first line.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @suzannepurewal,
This would be possible to do with custom CSS. However, this requires either a Premium or a Business plan. View all plans here:
https://wordpress.com/pricing/If you’re still interested, the CSS code you would enter would look similar to this:
p {
text-indent: 50px;
} -
-
The string I referred to above is: ampersand, the letter n, the letter b, the letter s, the letter p, followed by a semicolon.

The ampersand (
) would force a line break, and is useful for controlling how much space you want between two paragraphs. It wouldn’t work for inserting extra indents on the first line.However, if you want to have extra indents on your first line in a paragraph (and don’t want to upgrade), you could also consider using the pre tag.. Enter your text in the Text mode in the editor, with a
<pre>tag before the text, and a closing</pre>text after the text. If you hit space many times on the first sentence, the text will display this in the browser as well. To read more about this, please check out this support article:
