First picture is automatically associated with the post

Hi Community !
Tried to find an answer on the blog but wasnt sure of the vocabulary.Long story short in the reader of if I share the link of a post a picture will be associated to it and shown next to the title of the post. On facebook I can play around with arrows to select another picture whitin the post but generally speaking it looks like the first one is chosen.
I am not talking about feature image. I agree that will be shown on the header. I am talking to the picture associated with a post ie a link when i share it externally or when its show on the reader – the first picture is shown. how can I change that to the picture I want and a picture that is not in the post
Thanks much in advance for precious help and Happy blogging !

Howdy,
Ironman? Wow! I’ve done a marathon and some halfs, but can’t imagine taking on that much more in addition to the 26.2. Major props!
The various sharing services will look for some picture to share, most typically defaulting to the featured image first and then the first image in the post second (though that can vary based on the service).
Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to do this, without having the image display first in the post itself, and even then not all services will respect it.
