First time blogging

Hello,
I just want to make sure I’m doing this right.
I’m just doing a food blog for fun, is it free to use WordPress for that? When I go to launch my site it’s asking to do a payment plan. What do I do from here to ensure it’s free?
I’m not a business or anything, as I say it’s just for fun and thought it was free to use.Thanks for your help.

Hi,
WordPress.com offers a free blogging platform. When you reach the payment screen, there is an option to skip payment and keep the free blog instead. There’s no need to enter payment information for the free blog. There are some limitations to what can be done with the free blog, but if you simply want to do some food writing for fun, and don’t need to upgrade the CSS at all, you should be satisfied with the offerings on the free blog. Thank you so much for your reply, sorry to sound stupid what’s CSS mean. Never done anything like this before as you can tell haha.
I’ve just gone on WordPress and did everything on there without doing anything else.Thank you again x

No worries, I’m happy to help! CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets. It simply allows you to change the look of the site beyond what is offered in the basic templates. You’ll be fine without it, and there are plenty of free templates that should suit your needs.
