  I am new to creating a website and I went through Hostgator to get a domain. I wasn’t aware I could go through wordpress with a paid plan. I only signed up for a month and I want to switch and buy a wordpress plan so I will have access to support but I don’t want to loose the work I have done. Is there an easy way to switch?

  Website hosted on Hostgator is running on wordpress.org self-hosted WordPress software installation.

  And there are few steps by which you can transfer all your content to wordpress.com from any other host running with wordpress.org site.
