First timer needs help

I installed wp onto my server yesterday. I was able to download and apply a new theme. It was called BidZine and I was particularly fond of it or anything, I just wanted to see if I could do something with the new software. I believe I was successful in changing the theme because it showed up when I accessed the page later. That was the last thing I did yesterday. Today when I accessed my new page the theme was gone. There is now nothing but text, completely naked and themeless, and worse, when I try to login via the wp-login.php page it takes me to a 404 error page. I am sure I wrote down the correct password yesterday because they make you type it in after they give it to you. So I tried the “forgot your password” link and it also takes me to a 404 error page. What gives? What happened to my new theme? Its folder is still on my server. It worked fine yesterday. -
