First year of Premium Plan only lasts 11 months?

    Premium plan was purchased for http://timbergladesnursery.com on 17 January 2015 for $99. On the “My Upgrades” page, it says “Renews on December 16, 2015. Does this mean that payment is DUE on Dec 16, making this first year only lasting 11 months? OR will the invoice be emailed out on that date but actually due after 12 months – 16 Jan, 2016? Thanks for your help, timbergladesnursery.

    Hi there. The upgrade renewal is done a month early to ensure your custom domain and other customisations to your site doesn’t expire. So, as I understand it you have to pay for the renewal in December, but the renewal only starts once the current plan expires in January. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#auto-renew

    Actually I think the safest is just to enable auto-renew or set yourself a reminder on your phone or Google calendar for the December date, as I’ve seen long-time users mention in other threads that the email reminder doesn’t always come through in time.
