Fix Blix

My blog title won’t show properly, as any text extending below the baseline for the text is cut off. Apparently the theme needs fixing. It also won’t show the subtitle text for my blog either.

It’s the theme that I really like but doesn’t work. How ironic. It would be nice to see what it looks like when it works the way it should.

    :)

Some themes don’t show the subtitle text. I’m using Pressrow and it has the same limitation.

I’m not clear on what you mean by, “any text extending below the baseline for the text is cut off.” Your title is looking fine in Firefox. Are you talking about making it a longer title?

I like Blix too, btw. Don’t give up on it too soon. :-/

Blix is presenting the title and no tagline exactly the way the designer chose it to be. This isn’t “broken”. It isn’t a “bug” and it’s not scheduled to be “fixed”. The following link will take you to theme reviews that record all the features and the known bugs. This link is for the group that Blix is in.

The request that the theme be re-coded to change the title and sub-title for all those using it could be expressed in a feedback. We all work on a shared multiuser blogging platform here so IMO the response is likely to be that you should purchase an upgrade and customize the css for your own blog. That way it will not affect the others who have the theme and you can adjust it to your liking.
There are three options for personalizing your theme at wordpress and you can find them detailed at this link http://wordpress.com/forums/topic.php?id=6406&replies=9

Well, actually, the theme isn’t working in IE 7, and yes it works in Firefox. However, while I’m aware of some issues with the CSS presentation in IE, it just seems poor design I suppose. The line-height or perhaps the div height for the H1 level text heading for the site title is cutting off the lower portion of the Y and part of all the letters as well.

I agree that the simplest fix would be to buy an upgrade. However, if I’m going to do that, wouldn’t it make sense to buy services that actually work? I’m trying the WordPress.com solution as an experiment, and while it works fine for the most part, I keep finding little issues here and there, such as with the tag cloud on occasion, and the fact that the stats for my blog roll over at GMT which is a hinderance for American bloggers who want to time releasing a post with morning coffee for US readers, say.

Not complaining really, just saying that if I am going to pay for a blog, I may consider Godaddy.com or many other hosts that get me a blog with WordPress or other blogging systems for less than what WordPress wants to charge.

I guess the fix is to simply settle for a different template. Just doesn’t make sense to me that a template that doesn’t present properly on all platforms would make approval.
