Fix the delay in my email notifications of up to 18 hours!?!?!?

The last week or so, my email notifications for my own site and those I subscribe to either are not being sent, or else I am getting them 18 hours after the posts were published. How can we correct this? I have checked my date/time settings and they are right. If I go on WordPress.com I can see that the posts were published but I am not receiving my emails nor are they going into my spam folder.

Just an update. My blog from 8/26 which was published about 12:04 AM was just emailed to me today 8/27 at 4:15 PM and my post from today, published at 12:05 AM was just emailed to me today at 5:04 PM.

Could you please check your delivery settings at http://wordpress.com/#!/settings/subs-delivery/ , especially the e-mail delivery window option.

Thanks. I had done that. But I finally got my post as usual Wednesday and I waited to see if it happened again. It did so I think this has been resolved. I will note that and close this out. I appreciate all your help.
