Fixed Header

    Hello,

my (any) theme says that the header should be x*y pixels, but when choosing an image with x*y pixels, it gets still cut.

Is there any way to disable the automatic cutting/positioning when choosing an header image?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Hi @darkx88, it depends on your theme, really. Could you send a link to the site you’re having trouble with? We’ll check it out and point you in the right direction for support.

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    The site is http://tsv.superbia.eu/
    We are using Hestia.

Our problem is that the website is about a sports club and every page of a sports team should contain a photo of the team as the header. But when applying the photo, it gets automatically cut so that heads or legs are cut.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Ah! Okay, first, please understand that site isn’t hosted here, so there’s limited help I can give.

But I can say this in general: I’d recommend against using pictures of humans as featured header images, because they will almost always get cut off depending on the theme and device. Sometimes it works, but you really have to pick the picture carefully. Instead, to show the full picture every time, add the person-pictures to the content area. And do not add it as a “cover image.”

Depending on your theme, you may be able to add some CSS to hide the header on those pages.

Going forward, you’ll also want to use the correct forums for self-managed installations, at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

Or, you’d be welcome to migrate your site to our services. You can find our pricing here:

    Cheers!
