fixing header size?

Okay, I am TOTALLY NEW to CSS and have really no experience, but I just started messing around with it and I need some help. I took the Contempt theme and edited the size of it and what not, I want the header to be 880×200, but I’m having problems. I’ve expanded the size of the page, but when I try to add my custom header–it still gives me the old default sizes and asks me to crop, then it doesn’t even appear. My HTML, CSS skills are completely limited…so I will need someone to really dumb this down for me if they can, but basically I just want this header to be bigger to fit my new, more stretched out layout I created. Thanks in advanced….

It appears as if you got this resolved. Just rememeber that after you get the paid CSS upgrade, you can no longer use the custom header uploader. You size your header to the exact size you need and then upload your image to the media library, get the URL of that image and then put that URL into the correct location in the CSS.
