Fjords Header Change

  • Unknown's avatar

    Just wanted to let people using Fjords know to take a look at their blogs. My header has been fixed so that the edges of the segments of image don’t repeat anymore.

    This is great, except that i found my image was no longer wide enough, and i had blank space at the right hand side.

    :-)

    I’m interested to know how much space had to be added and what the exact size is for headers on Fjords now.

    Good question. The photo i uploaded is 1016 pixels wide, but i think the crop tool shrank it a little.

    Tx for the update. I’ve been considering using the theme on one of my blogs. I wish it were a 3 column theme though with a larger blogging space.

    The writing space is a little too narrow, but it’s pretty good for my purposes (eslresources.wordpress.com)

    I tried it but my readers complained that the blogging space for posts was too narrow and the font was too small. :(

    My readers complained too, about the narrow post column space. I told them it was my blog and I’d use any template I liked. If they didn’t like it, they could start their own blog and use what ever template they liked. :-) I like the 4 columns!

    @mikki1018
    I’m not going to respond to my readers the way you did to yours because my blog isn’t a private blog for my own edification entertainment. By the time I’ve done the research on the environmental topics I post on, I’ve already read what there is to say on any given topic. So my blog is for the readers – it’s not for me. And what they think is important.
    IMO the the random hits from 30 second wonders count for diddly squat in the blogosphere. What does count is creating a faithful community of readers that is growing larger as my blog matures.
    I believe that’s what moved my blog from a Technorati rank of 1,339,298 (0 links from 0 blogs) and a page rank of 0 when I began on April 8th, 2006 to a rank of 15,395 (881 links from 233 blogs) and a page rank of 5 as of today.
    But maybe your experience has been different from mine :)

    @timethief

    There ya go! My blog is for me, your blog is for the masses. My blog is for the sole purpose of keeping my readers (mostly family and friends from an opposite coast) updated on my happenings so they cease to worry about me “living so far from home.” Blogging turned out to be more fun, and much easier for me than sending monthly emails.

    I still call home every week though…

    I think it all counts in the blogosphere. Congrats on your stats, though.
