Fjords Italics

  am trying out the new-ish fjords theme…one question: is it possible to get regular italics within the body of my posts? all my ‘s are turning up in ‘bold red text’ instead of being italicized.

  can it be fixed or is it hardwritten into the theme?

  i’m replying to my own post b/c it didn’t go through right…the jist of it is when the italics are written into the code as emphasis ’em’, they come out as red bold words….that’s what i want to fix

  I see what you are saying. I tried it on a test blog of mine and got the same results even when trying to work in the code. Looks to be a theme issue. Maybe some others here might have some suggestions. You might want to send in a feedback to support on Monday…they are closed for the weekend.

  it is theme-dependent, meaning that the theme author had meant for it to be that way. you could send feedback as ryannjenn suggested, but i wouldn’t keep too high hopes for wp to edit the theme, which is possible.

  Yup, it’s in there in that theme:

  em{
  	font-style: normal;
  	font-weight: bold;
  	color: #ef6c6c;
  	}

  Kind of a pinkish?

  Could change it with the CSS upgrade of course.

  Just noticed that the youtube videos are sized for that theme. Google’s aren’t though.

  It seems that if you don’t mind editing HTML and are willing to manually insert the “cite” code (<cite>text</cite>) the Fjord theme will provide you with italics.

  I’ve been wanting to use this theme for some time and finally made the plunge. Saw the red instead of italics and came hunting here for an answer. Thanks for the info!
