  I changed my user name and now my blog is disconnected from my account. I changed my user name from denbear00 to christianflanagan. I originally set up this account to demonstrate WP.com to a friend. Today, I decided to put it to use for my business, so I blew away all of the demo content and changed the account information to better reflect a legitimate website. Now, my profile no longer shows my blog. When I try and start a new blog, I can’t use flanagansweb.wordpress.com any more. I really need that.

  Hello,

  That’s unfortunate. This is what the relevant support doc states:

  Once you change your username you will not be able to change it back and the old name will not be available for you or anyone to use. If you just want to show your name differently please only change your Display Name. https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/

  So these two strings:
  denbear00 and flanagansweb

  are exactly the same from a system perspective?

  And by changing denbear00 to christianflanagan means that I can no longer user flanagansweb?

  I’m still able to navigate to flanagansweb.wordpress.com? How to I delete that blog?

  You will have to use account recovery first https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/. Support Staff cannot help with this; Account Recovery Staff can. Please complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff, and provide proof ownership, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums, which are available to everyone with internet access.
