Flash cover menus on IE and CHROM

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
    I’ve embedded an external SWF file in my side (www.physiocall.co.il)
    it looks ok, but I have 1 problem.
    The menus has stopped showing “above” the flash component.
    It happaned on IE and Chrome but not on Firefox.

    Any Idea how to make the component stay “behind” the menu-sub menus ?
    I have the css extension option, but I don’t know what should I do here.

    Thanks.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I’m not seeing anything in your sidebar covering the menu (I’m on Safari) in the blog linked to your username, http://madayarkon.wordpress.com/ . Are you talking about a different site?

    Yes,
    physiocall.co.il

    the menu is “cut” by the flash image of the body.
    thanks for checking.

    Hopefully hallluke will see this and perhaps he can tell. I’m on Mac and in FF, Opera and Safari the menu is fine and the dropdowns are on top of the flash image below. I can’t reproduce the problem and there is nothing in the CSS or the code that jumps out at me.

    You could try adding

    wmode="opaque"

    or

    wmode="transparent"

    to your gigya shortcode and see if either of those work. I don’t experience any problems in Firefox, Opera or Safari on my mac. Other than that I don’t think there is anything you can do with CSS. I have a feeling (though I haven’t tested it) that modifying the z-index via CSS doesn’t work in this case.

    a. You are great !! problem resolved.
    b, you were right about z-index as well… tried it without success.
