Flash vs. browser uploader
-
I’m at the very beginning of setting up my blog. I want to use it primarily as a photo blog, so I want to add large numbers of photos. After perusing this board, I see that the Flash uploader allows batch uploads and the browser uploader is limited to one-at-a-time uploads. I can’t seem to find the Flash uploader.
From my dashboard, I click Posts -> Add New -> {Add an Image} icon.
I assume this is the browser uploader. Where is the Flash uploader?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When you go to “add an image” the flash uploader is the default (select files – plural).
Notice the line right under the “select files” button? See the text link that says “browser uploader?” You have to click that to use the browser uploader.
One note about the flash uploader: I would not upload more than 5 images at a time. Most times if you do, some of them may not upload due to timeouts – at least that has been my experience.
Also, optimize your image before uploading them so that the file sizes aren’t huge. The web is set up for 72DPI, and uploading anything over that is really not warranted and simply ends up increasing your site loading times.
