Flickering

    Hi,
    Whenever I load my site the default fonts and colors flicker for a second. This happens with all the free themes I have tried. Is there any way to make the flickering stop without upgrading? Right now I am thinking about giving up on WordPress and starting a blog somewhere else… not very happy.

    The flicker you see is the default font being used to show the text until the fonts defined in your theme are loaded. This is more noticeable on slower connections, however the alternative is to not show the defaults at all so visitors would see no text until the fonts have loaded. It is possible to switch to that method but it requires upgrading so that you can modify the CSS.

    One thing you could do to eliminate the flicker in your site title at least is to use a graphic logo for that part instead of text. You can set that by going to My Sites > Customize > Site Identity. In this case the logo also takes some time to download and display though.
