Flickering on loading blog's main page
-
When I load my blog page on chrome and safari the there is a very noticeable flicker – the favicon.ico (which I use the default wordpress ico) flickers furiously 5 or 6 times before I can see my page properly. I am assuming that if this is happening for my readers, it must be disconcerting for them as well. Any ideas why this is happening? And how I can correct it?
The flickering is also present on internal pages (e.g. http://zuri.in/2013/02/27/how-to-apply-mascara-like-a-pro/), but is noticeably less than on the home page (www.zuri.in)
Appreciate the help. Thank you.

If I remove facebook widget, tag-cloud widget, all sharing buttons on posts (e.g. facebook, pinterest etc.) then the flickering reduces. The closest I have come to a good answer is here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12358087/flashing-between-page-loads
But I would love to hear from staff.
Also, when I see network load times on chrome for various http requests, this one stands out in terms of time: http://s.skimresources.com/px.gif?ch=2&rn=4.77470306167379 — I don’t even know what this gif is? WordPress is including it on my page without my knowledge.
What is this guys? Can you please help?

Hi there,
I took a look at your site, and I didn’t see the flickering that you mentioned. Since you’re seeing it mainly on your home page, it’s possible that due to the number of images and other things on your front page your browser is loading the page slowly. In that case, it may help to reduce the number of blog posts or images that you have on your front page to see if that makes a difference for you.
