Flickr picture problems

I need a workaround for this issue. On my old blog (http://regen2.blogsome.com), that WordPress installation would allow me to use
so that my flickr pictures would present properly with the footer underneath the text and image. I am told by Support that the ‘clear’ attribute is stripped out because it would break some of the WP themes. Has anyone managed to get this working? You can see what I’m talking about by comparing the way pictures appear on my new blog with the way they appear on my old (scroll down about halfway and look at the post marked ‘Rings’ for one example).

Note how on the new blog, the footer graphic (the grey bar) goes through the picture and the Comments/Categories are directly under the text, and on the old blog, the footer is in its proper location. This is because of the
being allowed over on blogsome.com, but I haven’t figured out a solution for WP.com.

I have tried this with the default Flickr templates and my old customized template, and neither work. Suggestions, please?

I’m lost. I don’t see the difference. What do you mean by “footer”?

What browser are you using? It looks fine to me on FF on a Mac.

I’m using both FF and IE on WinXP to look at my main page.

When I say ‘footer’, I mean the post footer; if you look at the end of every post there is a gray bar right under Comments and Categories. Comments, Categories, and the gray bar are all part of the post footer. The images I post always overlay that post footer unless the text is longer than the height of the graphic. It looks unprofessional, in my opinion.

I tried going old-school and just using this morning, but that doesn’t work either.

Surely someone else on WordPress posts photos with captions to the right or left instead of directly above or below?

I’m afraid this is a theme-based problem (not actually a problem) but it’s because your posts are too short and the images are wider or big enough to fit them around it. I notice all your photos are placed on the right side, why not align the images on the left and see if it works or not affecting the post footer alignment?

It looked a little better, but not what I wanted. I decided to change the layout of my photos to include the image below the text; I think that’s the only way I’m going to get it the way I want.
