Flickr video not showing up
-
I tried to post a video from Flickr but it doesn’t show up. I think wordpress thinks that it doesn’t have the permissions to view it but I’ve posted many in the past without issue
http://craigandstacy.wordpress.com/2009/10/14/wordless-wednesday-take-2/
the video is
http://www.flickr.com/photos/2tberrys/4010900835The code I used is
[flickr video=4010900835]
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Bizarre, I can use one of your other videos in a post however this one gives me the same error as you.
Your code is fine, my only thoughts are to check the privacy settings, short of that I would delete and re upload the video.
BTW Cute Kid

Someone else reported an issue with Vodpod videos, too. I know for a fact staff are tinkering, and this makes me think they’re doing video tinkering today. I’d just wait it out if I were you, perhaps unpublish the post and schedule it to post later. They might be done by then.

Thank you. I’ll edited the post to link to the video on flickr and will wait to see if things get ironed out.

I think I’m having a similar problem with a public flickr video on this post
http://adaptedworld.wordpress.com/2009/10/19/find-oldies-but-goodies/
Has it been resolved?
If not, does anyone know of a video hosting service that WP.com can embed that doesn’t pull up other similar videos (not your own) from their hosting site when your video finishes (youtube does this and I don’t want that)?
Thanks!

You can just edit the postcode so that it doesn’t show related videos. http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/
What is the exact shortcode you used for that video? And what are the specific privacy settings on your account at Flickr?
-
The shortcode is [flickr video=4028870286]
The privacy settings are the same as all the other Flickr videos which embedded fine
“Who can see this video? = Anyone (public)”; “Who can comment” = Only you”; “Who can add notes, tags, people = Only you”;
What is the postcode and how would I edit it? Come to think of it I don’t like Youtube because I don’t want my videos pulled up at the end of other people’s videos either.

Like I said, you can edit the YouTube shortcode to modify whether or not it displays related videos, autoplays, etc. The instructions are at that link.

I assume like facebook and I’ll other forms of shared media hosting I can control what shows up on my page/video display but I don’t think I can have enough control over others’ video displays without making my videos completely private. I have individuals viewing my site that won’t have the password. Bottom line I really liked GoogleVideo because they were public but unsearchable videos and haven’t found a suitable replacement since they stopped uploading videos. Still no fix for the Flickr video which was my closest replacement.

Fixed it using VodPod but it seems so odd to have to use VodPod to post a video for which there is a short code that should be working but isn’t.
