Flickr widget not working?
-
Hi all,
I’ve seen this type of question posted before and I using the suggestions posted but it hasn’t helped my particular problem.
My blog is at http://sugarchick.wordpress.com
The code for my Flickr photos is http://www.flickr.com/photos/22034073#N08/
I’ve tried changing the “@” to “#” and also tried keeping the “@” but neither makes the pics show.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!

This is happening because you aren’t putting your Flickr feed link into the Flickr widget.
On Flickr, go to “My photos” page and at the bottom of the page, you will see something like this:-
Subscribe to justmekellie’s photos: Latest|geoFeed|KML
You’ll have to right click on “Latest” and copy the link location. That’s how it happens in Firefox and you can see how to do it in Internet Explorer. Then put that copied link location into the Flickr Widget.

Attention: ISHMEET
I tried what you told me and it linked correctly to my flickr page but it didn’t display the photos on the blog page. Instead it puts a box on there with the words “more photos”, and upon clicking on the box, it takes me to the photo page on flickr. Maybe this is all I can expect?

@timethief: That’s not her problem I guess. She already said she tried doing that. She said the pictures aren’t displaying when she puts that url into the Flickr widget and that’s because that isn’t the feed of her photo stream and that’s why the pictures won’t display.
-
@sugarchick: Nope, that shouldn’t be happening because I tried doing it myself and it worked for me. Are you sure you are copying the correct url? I can post a screenshot here and I think that should help you. Make sure you’re on the “My photos” page.
-
Ishmeet: Yep, I’m at the page called “Your photos” (meaning mine) and the link I copied using your directions is: http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?id=22034073@N08&lang=en-us&format=rss_200

When I click on the link for your photos, it gives me a message saying “justmekellie has no pics available for you”.
That means either you haven’t added any photos recently or else you have set them to private so that only your friends can see them. I believe that’s the reason they aren’t showing up in the Flickr widget. Try setting them to public and see if it works.
-
Ok, they photos were set as private so I changed them to public. Still not working. I give up, LOL! There are 2 photos there that I uploaded yesterday.
-
LOL, that is annoying indeed. I’ve tried all I knew too. One last thing I can say. Inside your Flickr widget, there will be an option which says “How many photos would you like to display” and set it to 2. I put your url in my test blog and set the number of photos to 2 and it’s working. You can see it here :-

Yours is actually doing what mine does…It leaves a link to click on to go to another page to view the photos. It doesn’t display them on the actual blog page, or is it not supposed to? Or maybe it’s my computer? UGH! I’ve tried this on 2 different computers. I’ll keep trying though. It’s probably something very simple I’m overlooking. Thank you all for your help!
-
Actually it’s finally working now!! I set the photo settings to “2” as you suggested and they showed up on my page. I guess that means you have to set it to the exactly # you want to display.
-
Wow, it has to be your computer then because when I checked my blog on my computer, it was working and it was showing the pictures. And it is supposed to show the pictures.

I wonder if it might be that if you only have two photos, and set it to display more, it causes the problem. In other words, if you had say, 10 photos uploaded to flickr, and set your widget to display 10, then it would display 10, but if you set it to display 12, something weird happens and it won’t display them.

Yeah, that’s what gave me the idea to set the number of pictures to display to 2 because she had only 2 and now it’s working. Took a long time to figure out though lol.
