Flickr Widget Only Displays Photo Title

  • Unknown's avatar

I see this posted in the forum, but I haven’t seen any posted working solutions to it (also the existing posts seem to be old, the latest being April or so?)

    What am I missing?

So far I’ve read that WP corrected the widget for an Atom feed over an RSS feed, that substituting in the code for an @ symbol will fix it, and that I can find an RSS url in the ‘view source’ of my Flickr set even if they try to give me an Atom feed url. None of these things seem to work for me. (Though, to be fair, I can’t *find* the RSS url over the Atom in the source page – I do clearly see the reference to Atom in it, though.)

Can anyone help me get an actual image in my widget rather than a photo title? Thanks!

http://architheque.wordpress.com contains the widget in question.

  • If you are using a feed for a particular set, only the titles will display. If you are using a feed for your entire photostream, the images will also display.

does anyone happen to know if this is something that will be fixed at any point in the future?

You can make it work by using a tag feed.

Tag all the photos you want to be displayed in the Flickr widget with a specific tag (ex: flickrwidget).
Click to view on of these photos and then click on the “flickrwidget” tag on the right column.

Use the RSS API link on the bottom left.
