Flitting between articles…

My blog automatically opens on the Home page, which is full of profile stuff rather than the articles I want people to read. Is there any way I can vary it so that it flits between articles? All my articles are posts rather than pages so I presume this has something to do with it. Ay advice would be very welcome.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Go back to settings > reading and click “Front page displays — Your latest posts and save. Now go to pages > pages in your dashboard and open that page that was your front page in the editor. Copy everything out of that post and put it into a new post and then set that post as a sticky post.

That post will now stay “stuck” to the top of your main blog page.

Morning @thesacredpath – good that I refreshed before typing what you had already done.

My personal thought would be to put the Profile on a Page and not have it stuck to the front page at all – if I am a regular visitor I will soon get tired of the same thing in my face and tired of needing to page down to see if you have new content – let your visitors click on a “About Me” or “Who I am” or whatever Page if they want to find out more about you – fresh content sells and brings people back – even your friends – one of the biggest complaints I hear about personal blogs is “where is the new stuff” and a BIG sticky Post at the top will look like stale old stuff.

Just my $ .035 adjusted for inflation opinion.

Thanks very much, sacredpath. I like auxclass’s idea, though – how would I do that?

Looks like you got it changed – good luck –

If the front page gets too long you can use the Read More to shorten some of the Posts (some blogs have the top Post in full and then use the Read More to shorten the older Posts so the blog loads faster)
