Flounder theme has a design flaw? (since I joined WP)
-
The main post used as a home page appears to have a flaw in the Flounder theme. This was pointed out to me by another WP user some many months ago; …and the flaw is still there?
If you go to the site at http://arcbornechapter.wordpress.com/ and look closely at the right edge to the column with the push-pin icon, a-top. You will see a ‘glitch’ in the vertical edge. The site pages run perfectly straight along that same line; but not the post page? I think the push-pin menu area that overlaps the column that runs down the post, is a tad wider. If the width to the push-pin menu were realigned, it would overlap perfectly. Can it be fixed?

Please provide this specific info:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/
(c) Exactly what you experience including exactly what any error reports you receive state.
(d) Screenshots can be helpful. You can use http://snag.gy/ or http://cloudup.com to share screenshots and link to them here. If you use the WordPress.com guide for screenshots http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/ you can and upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it.Then type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond. Device: predominantly desktop internet computers at the library.
Browser: predominantly Firefox v 38.0 (installed on their systems)
(* site built for FF; I checked Chrome and IE, the alignment is fine)
(the alignment is right via IE and Chrome it’s not built for; no flaw)
No screenshot needed, see “test-test-test…” post page; same flaw.
URL: https://arcbornechapter.wordpress.com/ (w/ test post page)
The rest of the Flounder theme appears to be working as designed.
Not familiar with the last step (modlock via sidebar???) -
FYI: just discovered this, if I zoom in or out on the test post page, the flaw comes and goes (from off-kilter to perfectly aligned and back again; toggled).

I’m afraid I am not seeing this in Firefox myself.
Can you make a screenshot?
Here are some screenshot instructions if you are not familiar with the process:
I find http://snag.gy/ to be very useful for sharing screenshots. You can also upload the screenshot to your site’s media library. I will be able to see it there.

It’s a subtle flaw, but enough for a visitor to point it out via another issue, some time ago. (don’t recall what that issue was then as it’s been so long)
I marked the pushpin menu overlap alignment “flaw” in the screenshot I uploaded to the media library; which has another issue already reported.

Ahhhh, I see it now. Thank you for the screenshot. That helped.
Now that I know what I am looking for, I notice that you can actually also see it on the Flounder theme demo page:
https://flounderdemo.wordpress.com/2011/07/07/aquarium/
I will file a bug report.
-
I never noticed that in the Flounder theme demo itself?! Thank you kindly for pointing that out, and for filing a bug report also.
-
I have no timeline on the fix. But at least the report has been filed and someone will see it.
Thanks again for taking the time to explain it all.

Howdy!
Thanks for bringing this bug to our attention. We’ve made a fix to the Flounder theme so it should look better now, without the glitch. I hope this helps!
Cheers,
Caroline
