Flurry of Spam Comments

  We’ve been getting an incredible number of spam comments on our WordPress blog today. Is anyone else experiencing this? Are there any steps we can take to minimize this.

  Hi @rudysbeat. Sorry about the trouble, and thanks for reporting the issue. If a lot of the spam comments have a common string of text you can add that text to your blacklist. blacklist:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-blacklist

  Also, please mark those comments as spam instead of just deleting them. Our Akismet anti-spam engine learns from the comments people mark as spam so we can help to prevent this in the future. If you’d like some additional information about dealing with unwanted comments, visit:
