Follow Blog widget

  Hi there,
  I have the Kadence theme for my blog and I can’t figure out how to get the Follow Blog Widget. It’s not included in my list. Can anyone help me to add this to my site? Or if there ay any other suggestions for some sort of ‘follow’ button…

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi,

  As long as you have published two or more posts, readers can follow your blog using the follow button which will appear on the bottom right corner of your site.

  Hi Catkiinson,
  Thanks for the reply. I have published 2 posts and the follow button did not appear.

  I have also already been to the link you provided, but the problem is the Follow Blog widget doesn’t appear in my list of widgets when I go to the customizer.

  I’m wondering if my theme does not support this Follow Blog widget and that’s the reason it isn’t showing up?

  Hi,

  Looking at your site https://americaninturkeycom.wordpress.com/ there only appears to be one blog post published.

  It looks like you’re using the Independent Publisher 2 theme. Independent Publisher 2 includes four widget areas: one optional Sidebar, and three Footer areas. https://wordpress.com/theme/independent-publisher-2

  You should be able to find the Follow Blog Widget in Customize > Widgets > Footer > Follow Blog. Then Publish your changes.

  Actually, this is an old site that I haven’t actually used. I opened a WordPress site with this name first and then I ended up switching to GoDaddy for hosting and started another site (fabfifisworld.com) through them. But it’s my understand this is also a WordPress site….? Or maybe I am wrong about that

  Hi,

  We can only help with WordPress.com hosted sites on this forum. Since your site is hosted with GoDaddy, you can use the WordPress.org forums for support: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

  It looks like fabfifisworld.com is using the Virtue theme. There is a .org support forum for that theme here: https://wordpress.org/support/theme/virtue

  Hi there,

  To add the follow blog widget on a site running the open source WordPress software, you need to install the Jetpack plugin on the site and connect it to your WordPress.com account.

  Jetpack

  The WordPress.com follow button that appears bottom right on all WordPress.com sites cannot be added to a self-hosted WordPress site.
