follow blog widget does not appear in menu
-
Many of the usual widgets appear when I go to Appearance–>Widgets on my dashboard, but “follow blog” is not one of them. Is there a way to add it back to the options?

If you are then scroll down the widgets page and look for the Follow Blog widget in your Inactive widgets box. > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets

I am the admin, and it doesn’t show up in the inactive box either. I’m guessing it’s because I’m using a non-wordpress URL and that type doesn’t allow that widget?

Is this the blog in question?

What is the URL that you are using?

We don’t provide support for that site on this forum. We provide support only for those with free hosted WordPress.com blogs. That’s not a free hosted WordPress.com blog so you cannot use the follow blogs subscription widget which is an in-house widget only for those with free hosted WordPress.com blogs.

You’re welcome. May I recommend that you read the WordPress.com vs WordPress.org entry please? It lays out all the differences between free hosted WordPress.com blogs and self hosted WordPress.org installs which run on different software.
