Follow blog widget not working

    I just got my blog up and running yesterday, and added the follow blog via email widget. Sent the address out to tons of family and friends. But I received a message that the email signup gives an error message. I tried it myself and get the same thing. It gives and error message. On that page you can enter the email address, and at first I thought that worked, but when I confirmed it says I’m following 0 blogs. Is there a bug with the follow blog widget or something else I need to do?

    Hi Denise,

    We came across a bug yesterday (November 15th) that was causing followers to see a “Your subscription did not succeed” error message, but we were able to resolve it.

    Can you let me know if the folks you send the email to are able to follow your blog now? If they’re still having some trouble, we can definitely take a closer look for you :)

    Yes, I did have one person who has successfully signed up to follow the blog after I got the initial message that the problem was fixed. Thanks for your help and I will let you know if anyone lets me know of an issue.

    Am not sure whether it has been working or not. I just uploaded follow blog today but nobody was able to follow. Pls advice.

    My followers are not receiving notice that a new post has been published. Why is this?

    @pacifista, there are a number of variables that happen when sending/receiving email. Could you please contact us directly through the contact form and provide the following information?

    • How many people total notified you that they did not receive an email for a post you published?
    • Can you confirm they are indeed listed on your subscriptions list in your stats?
    • Can you provide an example of one of those email addresses (privately to support so you don’t publish their address in the forums)?
    • Can you provide a link to the post they expected to receive?
