Follow Blog widget question

  Hello,

  Relatively new to WordPress and my first post here is a question:

  I am using the Follow Blog widget and would like to hide the number of followers from users who click the “Follow” button.

  I notice the widget has a “Show total number of followers?” checkbox but the number still shows when this is unchecked.

  Am I missing something? Or is this a bug in the widget?

  Hi there,
  My answer applies to http://soundkeeperrecordings.wordpress.com/ only. Provided you chose the no display option and clicked the “save” and “close” links inside the widget then it’s a bug and you can tell it is by reading the description here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/ I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance.   Hi timethief,

  Yes, I just tried again – checking the box, then saving and closing, then unchecking the box and saving and closing. When I go to the page and click on the “follow” box, I still see “Join ## other followers”.

  Will keep an eye out for additions to this thread.

  The timelines are a LOT longer than you’re allowing for here. Just wait it out. You won’t get a notification, but you will just see the change when it happens.

  Our developers are aware of the situation and will keep it in mind for future features and updates.

  The options in the Follow Blog Widget in your sidebar and the follow button are not tied together. If you don’t want the followers count to be visible you can disable the follow button under ‘Follower Settings’ at https://soundkeeperrecordings.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php
