Follow Button Disappeared

    Have just noticed the ‘Follow’ button that allows readers to enter their email addresss and subscribe to my blog SCENIC WRITER’S SHACK is missing.

    All attempts to reinstate it using tthe customizer fail.
    Here is the file path I am following for attempting to do this –

    Dashboard
    Appearance
    Customise
    Widgets
    Sidebar
    Add a Widget
    I then choose – “Follow Blog” (Add an email signup form to allow people to follow your blog)
    Publish

    Instead of receiving on the sidebar an active ‘Follow’ button that allows new readers to subscribe I just get an inactive banner display in the sidebar that reads “You are following this blog”.

    Please help!
    This is frustrating in the extreme!

    Hi Glen,

    The “Follow” button is visible on your site for visitors who are not yet following your blog. Once you have clicked the “Follow” button it will show as text, “You are following this blog”, instead of the button. Hope this clears things out for you :).

    Huge thanks Baldfraud.
    Foolishly I forgot that the basic reason I couldn’t see the ‘Follow’ button was that I have to log out of my WordPress account first then log back in as ‘Joe Public’ then I can see the screen that ‘Joe Public’ sees.
