Follow Button no longer showing
-
The ‘Follow’ button at the top right of my side bar has disappeared.
Deleting it within the widgets panel, and then re-installing, doesn’t work. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
When I go into the ‘Customize’ portion of the dashboard, the button shows up. But as soon as I leave the dashboard and go to the live page, it disappears again.

Hi there!
I just checked your site and I’m still seeing your Follow button:
Have you added any addons or extensions to your browser lately?
-
Well, that’s odd…
I still do not have it in my browser of choice, Safari, even though it was there earlier; and even though I do all my blog work in Safari.
So I went to some other browsers, and here’s what I found:
Safari – No
Firefox – No
Chrome – Yes
Opera – YesI’ve cleared the cookies from Safari, and restarted, but that hasn’t helped.
I have not added anything to the browser in quite some time.
Any other ideas? -
Hmm. Can you check that JavaScript is enabled in the browsers where it doesn’t appear? Did you update your anti virus program recently? If it has web integration, it may be conflicting.
-
JavaScript is enabled in Safari.
I can’t seem to find it in Firefox. In Firefox, I just updated to the latest version, but I got an error message, that follows:
Timestamp: 1/20/15 6:48:05 PM
Warning: Unknown property ‘-moz-box-shadow’. Declaration dropped.

Thanks for those details! I believe this is somehow a conflict with the browser, the widget, and your theme. I’m going to report it and see if our developers can figure out exactly what’s happening here.
-
I believe you are correct, about it being a conflict between theme and widget. I am now up to 3 browsers that do not show the widget. And I just tried to view the site on a different computer, and got the same results.
The total so far:
2 computers.
3 browsers…An additional question, if I may. I purchased the custom site upgrade some months ago. If I change themes, does that upgrade stay with me, or am I out of luck, and must live with whatever comes standard on the new theme, or purchase another upgrade?
-
And the problems escalate… I can not get the site title color to change to what I want it to in the customize section of the dashboard. It really does look like the theme is starting to lose it…

You get to keep the Custom Design upgrade! We see the upgrade attached to your site, not your theme. So you can change your theme as often as you like and you’ll still have all the Custom Design functionality. :)
I can not get the site title color to change to what I want it to in the customize section of the dashboard.
Can I test this on your site? What color were you trying to change it to?

-
I see that Sandy helped you get some CSS styles working to change that header color. I just tweaked the code slightly to get rid of that “!important”. Here’s the new code:
.logo-row a h1, .logo-row a h5 { color: #ffffff; }And it looks like the issue with the Follow button has been resolved! :)
