  @emily2013, can you give us a link to the site you are talking about? I’ve checked the two WordPress.com sites associated with your username, and both are fine. I see a self-hosted site listed, but when I try and go to that site I get a not found error.

  Hi, thesacredpath — I’m grateful for all your help, but I did the things you suggested and had no luck. I decided to change my WordPress theme, which took care of the text color in the Follow box.
  I’m not terribly tech savvy, so I’m pretty sure the problem was with the operator (that’s me!). Again, I really appreciate all your time and effort in helping me.
