Follow Button Widget Not Showing Properly On Some Themes In Some Widget Areas
-
Hello,
Two months ago I reported that the Follow Button Widget was not showing properly on some themes in some widget areas, but this still has not been fixed and comments are now closed on that topic and so I am opening a new topic.
Old Topic:
In the Twenty Fourteen theme’s Primary Widget Area the Follow Button Widget does not show the full title of my blog, and it does not show the Follower Count at all; and there are more themes where this happens but I do not remember the other themes with this problem.
Thank you,
-John JrThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi John Jr,
Sorry you’re still having trouble with this widget. Our developers have worked on this widget to address the issue, but I see that it’s still a problem on your blog. I reported the ongoing issue to our team.
In the meantime, one way to fix this is to deselect the “Show blog name” option in this widget. (The follower count is actually there, but the blog name makes the button too wide for everything to fit in the sidebar so it gets hidden.) Deselecting that option will remove your blog name from the button on your blog, which will make the button and follower count fit in the sidebar. I hope that workaround helps. :)

Thank you Rachelmcr. :)
Hopefully this glitch and several other glitches that other people and I have reported will be fixed, there are several confirmed glitches that I/we have reported that were confirmed but comments on those topics are now disabled because it has been too long, and they do not seem to be fixed yet for example here are some of them (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/johnjronline):
Thank you,

Hi John Jr,
I checked all of those forum threads, and all of the issues mentioned there have been reported to our developers. However, I can’t give a timeline for when those bugs will be addressed. Once a bug is reported to our developers, it’s up to them to take a look and hunt for a fix. If the bug is only reported by a few users, it may not get priority over other bugs and feature developments that are being worked on. If multiple users report the same issue, we let our team know that, too. :)
If any of those issues are still a thorn in your side, please let me know and I can help you look for a workaround for them on your blog.

Thank you Rachelmcr for checking those out for me. :)
I think that I have a workaround for most of them for now except maybe:
The Posts I Like Widget not showing certain posts without images and/or features images.
The Able Theme inconsistent spacing (I am no longer using this theme, so this is not a big problem).
The Top Rated Widget not showing properly on some themes in some widget areas (but I am no longer using a theme that has this problem at this time and I am not using the Top Rated Widget at this time until maybe the Ratings/The Top Rated Widget finally get updated like other features/widgets and/or integrated with Likes/Top Posts & Pages, and so this is not a big problem).
My Media Library shows that I am using 27.2MB even though I have nothing in my media library, which has happened before, it is not a big deal but it probably never resets itself like it should even after days/weeks/month.
Thank you,
-John Jr -
Hi John Jr,
Since you mentioned that the Able theme and Top Rated widget aren’t big issues for you right now, I’m going to focus on the other two issues you mentioned:
The Posts I Like Widget not showing certain posts without images and/or features images.
I don’t have a fix for that widget right now, but if you’d really like those posts to appear on your blog you could manually create a list of posts you like. To do that, you can create a list of links to the posts you like (or at least the posts without featured images that currently don’t show up in the Posts I Like widget). We have tips for that doing that here: Links Menu (Blogroll)
Once you have that list of links, you can add it to your sidebar with the Links Widget.
My Media Library shows that I am using 27.2MB even though I have nothing in my media library, which has happened before, it is not a big deal but it probably never resets itself like it should even after days/weeks/month.
I checked to make sure that all of your files were deleted and the cache is cleared, so I can confirm that your media library is completely empty. Since that 27.2MB it’s reporting is less than 1% of the total space for uploads in your media library, I wouldn’t worry about it. :) But if you’re concerned, let me know and I’ll dig a little deeper to see what’s going on there.

Thank you for the information Rachelmcr. :)
The Media Library issue is not a huge problem for me, but I would like to know what it going on because this could help someone else in the future who actually uses their Media Library a lot and I am the type of person who usually likes to see things/mysteries/et cetera like this solved or at least try to solve them. ;)
Thank you for the help :) ,

Hi John Jr, I’m checking with our team about your media library and will let you know as soon as I have more information about that. :)
-
Hi John Jr, your media library was empty, but the stats in your dashboard hadn’t caught up yet. I fixed that up for you, so you’re all set!
-
This is the second or third time that someone had to fix that :D , thank you very much Rachelmcr. :)
