  Hi, Robyn,

  Yes! On my home page is a Follow button. But I’ve had people subscribe with no notification sent to me, and also others who try up to 4 times, I’ve heard, before making it work.

  The most frequent issue that we see when Followers attempt to subscribe to a site, is that they don’t confirm their subscription via email. If you hear that a visitor is having difficulty, could you please first send them this support document before asking them to contact us directly?:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/following/
  Most likely, if they’re having subscription issues, it’s a problem we can solve with them…rather than it being caused by any problem with your site.

  Have the folks who have subscribed to your site (and from whom you didn’t receive notification) been email followers? Or are they simply following the blog without email notification?
