Follow pop-up button on the right bottom corner

    Hi, I have a “follow” button that I don’t know how it got into the page and now it does not want to go away!

    I’ve read it is a plug in. But I cannot find on the dashboard the “plug-in” option to deactivate this pop-up button!

    Does anyone know how to make it disappear? One had to be logged off to see the button as a common person would.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there. Logged in WordPress.com users can follow your blog by clicking on the follow link in the admin bar when they view your site. However, logged-out readers don’t see the admin bar. That’s why that follow button appears for them, otherwise they have no option to follow your site. No logged-in user will ever see that button if they visit your site.

    This isn’t a plugin (we don’t have ANY plugins on WordPress.com), but an intended feature to make it possible for non-WordPress members to also follow your site, so it’s actually a good thing.

    But if you really want to disable it, you can do so via Settings ->Reading in the dashboard. Look for the option that says “Show follow button to logged-out users”. Note that this won’t prevent non-WordPress.com members from following your site as they can still follow it in any RSS reader. There is no way to prevent anyone from following your site apart from setting it to private.

    Thank you so much kokkieh!

    I had put a widget (sp?) on to follow up the blog through email, so that shows to un-logged visitors as well. Therefore, that grey button was redudant and kind of ugly looking as it did not stay at the bottom with the tab only out…

    But now it is gone! Thanks for your help! People will follow though the widget on the left corner of the page. Whether they are logged in or not!
