'Follow' popup

  Is there ay way I can get rid of the new ‘follow’ popup in the lower right hand corner? I’d really prefer not to advertise how many followers I have, to everyone – and not just because it’s a puny amount lol

  The only reference to “following” that I can see is the image of the bird holding the sign that says, “follow me!.” When I click on it, it takes me to your Twitter page. Is that what you’re referring to? Sorry if I’m missing something.

  Thank you for the pastry compliment, Micah! That said, no, there’s a gray box that pops up on my blog for everyone to click to ‘follow’ me, and then it reveals my number of followers. All of my friends get it too when they click on my blog *sigh*

  I see what you’re talking about. From what I can find, that button appears to be a new feature that’s currently being tested out. You can read a little more about it on this thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-disable-follow-pop-up-subscription

  Are you asking about the Twitter or Subscribe by email or is it another “Follow”? I don’t see anything that is related to WordPress.COM – your email is from Feedburner, I don’t do Twitter but I would think their numbers would be a Twitter issue and not a WordPress.COM configuration.

  auxclass, there is a new follow button they are testing on free WP. It pops up sporadically. If you follow Micah’s link you can read about it and see how to ebable and disable it :)
