Thanks for all the feedback folks. You should see the old subscription widget back in place with the new follow terminology (which you can edit if you wish).We’ll continue to look into ways to display the follow button, but with better display and management options for you as a user.

@mymcbooks
Will you please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog you are referring to? -
Hi There!
@mymcbooks Staff apparently changed it back to the original format because now my blog as well is displaying the email sign up widget instead of the follow widget format.

Thanks SK. I think the follow widget format is better. I have more than 10 people saying they signed up with the Email Subscription and I can’t find their subscription on the list.
-
I’m so relieved and happy this has been changed back, thank you. Please be aware that when you change the look of our sites (as opposed to the dashboard or backend) without warning, it’s alarming and frustrating.
In future, perhaps you could survey WordPress bloggers beforehand (via wordpress.com news), rather than making changes without notice?

I can’t find their subscription on the list.
@mymcbooks
If someone has subscribed to your blog then the subscription list can be found at the bottom of the stat’s home page by clicking on the subscription tab… Here is screen shot reference…Thanks SK.
You’re Welcome!

Thanks I know where it is. Am saying its not updating the list of people that subscribed
-
Oh sorry about that I misunderstood your reply
I recommend giving it 24hrs for the severs to update if you don’t see a change in the subscription list then I recommend clearing your cookies and cache If it still doesn’t update after those two options then you will need to submit a support ticket via the contact form
P.s. To access the contact form you will need to search for anything in the search field then the contact form should appear…

I think it’s cool that it was brought back, but I am new in the last few days to wordpress so I’m not sure the alternative. Anyway, I can’t be sure but I think it’s caused an error with the iPad formated site on both my blogs. The two sites are techbookshelf.com and thespruances.wordpress.com
When you go to those with your iPad, you get the follow this blog pop-up, but there is no good way to get rid of it. You can minimize it but it is always present. I have combed through the settings but can’t seem to turn it off. When I first started the blog 3 days ago, it didn’t pop up like that so I think it may be related to the recent change. Is there are way to turn it off?

I’m sorry but I don’t know. I don’t have an iPad. have you checked here? ipad > http://ios.forums.wordpress.org/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting

Since switching back, I see the same “Click to follow this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email” text that those who are not subscribed see. I would like to see the text we had before (“You are subscribed to this blog” or something similar) at least (I actually liked the new button a lot). Is there something I’m supposed to do to initiate that change?

Have you read what Staff said?

Timethief, I did see all that before I left my question. My issue is different. In the old widget, one text appeared for those who had not subscribed, a different one for those who did subscribe. Now, after the Follow button was removed and the old widget re-instated, I have only one text that shows for all comers, those with subscriptions as well as those without
It’s confusing, It’s my blog and I still wondered if somehow I wasn’t being recognized as a subscriber.
So my question still remains, how can I return to the “two different texts for the two different kinds of visitors” widget?
Thank you.

Hi Rebecca… the Subscription widget, once you open it, should show a space for two greetings. At least it does with four of my blogs over my three accounts.
If you’re still having the problem you might want to contact support.
