Follow up button for mobile view

  I am using “The Fictive Theme” and I would love if there was a follow button that popped up in mobile view. I’ve tried adding a follow button in a widget. But in the drop down menu it still doesn’t appear. I want people to be able to subscribe when they are on their phones considering that is how a lot of people read now.

  Hi Chasa,

  If you add the Follow Blog widget to your theme’s sidebar, those visiting your site on mobile will be able to see the widget after clicking the cog icon in the top bar of the site.

  If the widget is too hidden away for your liking, you could also consider using the Blog Subscription shortcode to insert a subscription form directly to individual posts or pages. More information on the shortcode can be found here:

  Thank you sooo much siobhyb, from what I noticed the widget didn’t appear! Butttt I am happy with the shortcode for each post until I can upgrade and integrate it into the main code! Thank you so much!

  I’m glad that the shortcode is working out for you! :)

  The widgets are a little hidden away on mobile with this theme. If you want to give it another try, look out for a cog icon in the top menu bar.

  As an extra note: It’s not possible to access the code behind your theme here at WordPress.com, even if you upgrade. If you’d like to make changes to the code then you could consider hosting your site elsewhere and download the core software available at WordPress.org.

  Thanks! I am not that tech savy so I wasn’t sure about all the coding for WordPress.com vs WordPress.Org. I am good for now. I might have some questions down the road.
