"follow us on…" widget for FREE wordpress blog = no plugins!

  Hi,

  sorry for my newbie question, but I couldn’t find an answer to this anywhere else in the forum…

  Our blog uses the free, basic WordPress package. If I understand correctly, this means that we cannot use plugins. Is there any other way to include a “follow us on…” feature that includes facebook, twitter and an rss feed? The only thing I can find is an email notification, which isn’t what I’m looking for.

  I’m also a bit confused because apparently free wordpress blogs can use widgets, but no plugins, yet the most popular social media PLUGIN is called the “social media WIDGET”…
