"follow us on…" widget for FREE wordpress blog = no plugins!

  Hi,

  sorry for my newbie question, but I couldn’t find an answer to this anywhere else in the forum…

  Our blog uses the free, basic WordPress package. If I understand correctly, this means that we cannot use plugins. Is there any other way to include a “follow us on…” feature that includes facebook, twitter and an rss feed? The only thing I can find is an email notification, which isn’t what I’m looking for.

  I’m also a bit confused because apparently free wordpress blogs can use widgets, but no plugins, yet the most popular social media PLUGIN is called the “social media WIDGET”…

  You can code one up using a text widget and create the links using HTML. See the following support pages.

  There is also a facebook like box widget as well that you will find at appearance > widgets.

  There’s also a prefab Twitter widget.
